Hi there! I’m working on a math shooter game called Simbagi. I completed the core gameplay and I’m sharing the current available features.
Enemy Squadron Assemble! Link to heading
Simbagi isn’t just about blasting away at spaceships – it’s about blasting away at spaceships while doing some mental gymnastics! I’ve implemented three (for now) distinct enemy types to keep things interesting:
Basic Battlers Link to heading
These are your bread-and-butter enemies. They move at a steady pace and serve up problems that will test your basic arithmetic and algebraic skills.
Scout Harriers Link to heading
Watch out for these speedy little ships! They zoom across the screen firing off simpler math problems that require a quick answer. Their agility might just catch you off guard!
Armored Dreadnoughts Link to heading
Don’t let their slow speed fool you. These hulking ships take two correct answers to bring down. Expect some tougher problems to test your math mettle.
Waves of Challenge Link to heading
Enemies will spawn in waves, increasing in number as you progress through the levels. They’ll come from any direction, so keep your head on a swivel and your fingers sharp!
I’m still tinkering with the level progression. I’m currently testing a mechanic where after a certain level (level 7 at the moment), the number of enemies resets to the initial amount, but the difficulty of the math problems ramps up. This keeps things fresh and keeps that mental challenge going!
What’s Next? Link to heading
I’m not done yet, pilots! The next update will be all about taking your Simbagi experience to the next level. Expect to encounter:
- Boss Battles: Gear up for epic showdowns against formidable enemies with unique attack patterns and challenging problems.
- Power Ups: Unleash power-ups to help you clear waves of enemies.
Thank you for reading and please stay tuned for my next updates!
